This project was inspired by the iconic GhostFace character. Despite its simple design — just a mask and fabric — it was essential to ensure these elements conveyed the character’s distinct terror. My goal was to create a model that captured realism and detail, making the simplicity of the original design visually striking. Process

Modeling

I used my David base model mesh, available for free, as a starting point. I sculpted the mask in ZBrush, focusing on its iconic details. The knife and shoes were modeled in Maya, adjusting each element to capture the essence of the character.

Clothing

I created all the clothing in Marvelous Designer, both for the base model and the final pose. Using Marvelous allowed me to maintain the natural flow and drape of the fabrics, ensuring the wardrobe had a realistic and authentic touch for the character.

Textures

I used Substance Painter for the texturing, focusing on adding a lot of detail to achieve a realistic look. I incorporated cracks and dirt to enhance the character’s authenticity, ensuring that every surface told a story and added to the overall atmosphere.

Render

I rendered Ghostface using Arnold in Maya, aiming for the most realistic look possible. I started with a base lighting setup to ensure all the textures were displayed correctly. Then, I incorporated HDRI and additional lights to enhance the overall atmosphere and depth of the scene.
